This is great. What age were they at processing? I have some here I need to move into the freezer, but have no idea when is the best age!
In response to: SWTOR = well done, Bioware. VERY well done indeed. (#SWTOR)
I wanted to hate TOR - and to an extent, I still do. I just have so much damn fun every time I log that I’m distracted from the shit I hate.
The closer to cap we get, the more little bugs and issues we find with the game. The one thing that’s bugging the hell out of me isn’t actually a bug: It’s the cost of your ability upgrades. I think this is WAY out of line. Going to the trainer is so cost-prohibitive, it’s taken all the excitement out of going to the trainer to get your new stuff. Granted, having been around the block a few times, I know that I either need to continue blowing all my money on crafting and shut my mouth about the trainer or I need to stop crafting so I can afford the trainer. But it still costs too damn much.
I give this game a solid 8.5 so far. I’d recommend it to anyone. I don’t see myself returning to RIFT (sorry Trion) and I don’t see myself making a switch for another game any time soon. There are some features I want to see in this (they need to steal Trion’s maps and they need to figure out how to incorporate public questing) but I’m going to stick with it for awhile.

Gaming will always be there if/when you find your way back to it. I go months without logging into anything & will also have periods where gaming is all I do for a few weeks. It’ll be there. :)

L.A. Noire, perhaps DA2, and possibly Bioshock 2 will be out by then as well. Oh, and Alice. There’s stuff. :)

L.A. Noire is supposed to be good, maybe we’ll work on that come winter-time? =) Good watching for my knitting-self =)

I wonder if making FBOS into a sour would work out better for people’s palates/expectations? =)

In response to: Guinea fowl processing. (#Realfood)
thanks for posting this. I’ll be getting guineas as bug/tick control, and I expect them to end their lives as meat. Not having had any idea how difficult guineas are to process, it was good to hear that they’re easier than chickens to pluck.

I can give you some rec’s to help you ease into the world of craft beer. It’s a whole other world from mainstream beer. (Like coffee, really.)

Good readin’ :) I don’t like beer at all, but the way you write about it makes me want to have another taste!

It was definitely a wonderful dinner - I think next time I’ll work in a little sage with the lentils. I think it would go well with the venison =)

This is an awesome, cute and adorable story. And of course I think that because it’s so similar to mine haha :) I think you guys were the first! But then my husband and I had to be the second :D We met in Oct 94, moved in together by Sep 95. Rest is history <3
When you spend hours and hours and months and months just /talking/… well, you really figure out if you’re compatible.

Hrmm - which one? I might hafta try that too.

I love Stouts too, but I generally prefer the lower alcohol content ones. My favorite recipe is a milk stout from one of the Papazian books.
In response to: "Play guy" or "beta guy" (#Gaming #MMO #MMOGaming)
True I suppose. But testing’s got to happen SOMETIME - usually closed betas are more testing and once it hits open beta, then it’s basically “free trial” mode.
In response to: "Play guy" or "beta guy" (#Gaming #MMO #MMOGaming)
Well, I think the issue is more that beta testing is no longer about testing…it’s a marketing ploy.

Hello! I have been looking for this piece of meat and no one seems to know what I am talking about. Even a butcher who has been in the business for “30″ years (as he said) had no idea when I mentioned Rump Cover or Rump Cap as a cut of meat what I was talking about. Could you please be so kind as to give me the address of this wonderful store you speak of! I live in Indianapolis, but would be willing to travel! Thanks!

It’s “different,” I’ll say that. As soon as I figure out priorities/rotations, I’m sure I’ll be posting more.

i can’t wait to hear your thoughts on the new class changes. Some of the old school players don’t like it because the talents are dumbed down. I’m on the fence till Cataclysm comes out.

In response to: RvR vs. PvP (#Gaming #MMO #MMOGaming)
Faced with the same frustrations, I’ve considered how to solve the problems you’ve mentioned, too. I’m not sure there is a solution.
I think that’s why I have such a love/hate relationship with PvP. Nothing gets my blood pressure going more than watching some douchecanoe completely screw a pvp match and gain the same rewards the rest of us get and earn FOR them.
In response to: RvR vs. PvP (#Gaming #MMO #MMOGaming)
STO also has this issue, it mostly rewards damage done and nothing else. But at least the Space War Zones now reward people for completing objectives.
There will also never be a really “fair” system to gauge individual effort in a team environment. IMO they should just put all that individual statistics on a back seat ("page 2″) and focus the display on the thing that should matter: Team Score.
In response to: Yup, I'm a Nomadic Gamer... (#Gaming #MMO #MMOGaming)
Oh, that’s classic…I wish I could stick with a game for a long time. I’m more like the “d-bag gamer"…I’ll play for a month or two, but I’m always eyeing another game XD
And Wizard 101 is awesome.
In response to: Yup, I'm a Nomadic Gamer... (#Gaming #MMO #MMOGaming)
HAHA - you invented a new term. ROCK! :D
In response to: Yup, I'm a Nomadic Gamer... (#Gaming #MMO #MMOGaming)
I am a “Boyfriend Gamer". I stick with a game longer than I should - like it’s a bad boyfriend:
“Oh I can’t leave my boyfriend [FFXI] because I have so much time invested in the relationship!”
“I can’t leave my boyfriend [AoC] because he’ll eventually change for the better!”
In response to: Yup, I'm a Nomadic Gamer... (#Gaming #MMO #MMOGaming)
Glad you accepted your nomadic nature. There’s nothing at all wrong with moving from game to game following the fun. Seems like Warhammer is experiencing a resurgence lately, I enjoyed my time as a Dwarfven engineer back when it launched, and it’s still on my list of games to return to when I get tired of the four (yes I’m nuts) I’m already playing.
In response to: Yup, I'm a Nomadic Gamer... (#Gaming #MMO #MMOGaming)
I’ll try to keep you entertained with lots of posts about it - at least in WAR, “story worthy” stuff tends to happen! :D
In response to: Yup, I'm a Nomadic Gamer... (#Gaming #MMO #MMOGaming)
I’m so tempted to dip back into WAR myself, having really enjoyed the game while I was there, and following all of the twitter buzz about it. Sadly, I have more then enough on my plate at the moment, so I will just have to live vicariously through everyone else!
In response to: The UI metagame (#Gaming #MMO #MMOGaming)
In EQ2, I run Fetish. Can’t live without it. It’s >>> default UI by far.
In response to: The UI metagame (#Gaming #MMO #MMOGaming)
You were giving me shit about not installing EQ2maps last week - I still haven’t installed it. :) In EQ2, I don’t care about the add-ons. SoE has done a bang-up job of creating a UI for the game. I reckon if I were healing raids, I’d investigate some stuff to optimize my performance.
In most other games we’ve played, I’ve had to tailor and refine UI’s. You can get by on what you’re provided but generally, if you intend to do anything but solo/duo casually you’re sacrificing performance and speed without custom UI’s. I couldn’t have played WAR or AoC without customization.

I SS’d that one RIGHT fast. I think we kept on him for the rest of the night for that one ;)
In response to: The aforementioned magic system. (#Gaming #MMO #MMOGaming)
Ah, see, I think these days, a system like this could find a home in a niche title. I suspect that this kind of thing would be the bread and butter of crafting-minded players
In response to: Never try to develop a game with friends. (#MMO #MMOGaming #Gaming)
I TRIED to become that dictator, and it didn’t work out, suffice it to say. ;)
In response to: Never try to develop a game with friends. (#MMO #MMOGaming #Gaming)
Excellent insight!
I’ve tried to get my friends in on projects in the past, but they’ve been hesitant. I suspect because they’re not creatively inclined and felt that they didn’t have enough to offer.
I might suspect, also, that in this case, there was no clear dictator? When making creative decisions, someone has to have the YAY or NAY stamp…and everyone has to agree to abide by that without hurt feelings. I suppose that being friends, people expect a lot of leeway and parity when it comes to decision making.
In response to: EQ2 - but LFPvP... (#MMO #Gaming #MMOGaming #EQ2)
Meh - I don’t have an 80+ character yet. Otherwise yeah I might try it. Warhammer’s (well, and WoW too) is nice in that you can do BG-style PvP at all levels from 1 right through the endgame.
In response to: EQ2 - but LFPvP... (#MMO #Gaming #MMOGaming #EQ2)
PvP in EQ2 has gotten a lot better with the battlegrounds. Spells change based on being in them, and you queue up exactly like WoW / WAR and have a selection of three to choose from. The downside to this is that teams are hit and miss unless you go in with a pre-made group, and you’ve also got to be level 80+ which I find just pushes people to skip past the first 80 levels of the game.
If you’re into PvP it can certainly scratch that “itch” many feel - for those who rely heavily on PvE, it’s still just a mass of confusion and wasted resources.

They do - though if you have a certain set of expansions, you won’t be able to go free; you’ll have to pay. Or you could make a totally new account and go free.

I played AO at launch (I also played Vanguard at launch…man, can I pick em or what!) and actually played for over a year. I had absolutely NO IDEA what I was doing, and I was one of those poor souls who gimped himself :D
If they still offer their “Free AO Classic” option, I might check it out again. I have fond memories…which is either really good or is a recipe for diaster.
